Each weapon gets a maximal speed attack : it's equal to 13 times the base weapon's speed. More you are below the weapon's offset, more you will hit slowly. It's adviced to use a weapon only if you get the required strength to hit at maximal speed (common to all weapons). This is called Full Speed or Full Swing.
It exists two types of damages on weapons :All sheets are consultable at Blacksmith. A Great Sword was taken as example.

Let takes weapon's damages : 2D8 onr S-M. This represents 2 dices of 6 sides.
Minimun damages will be : 2*1 so 2 Maximum damages will be : 2*6 so 12 Full Speed will be : 8*13 so 104 strength |
For example, it's more judicious if you get 110 strength to use a Great Sword+2 than a Flamberge because damages are the same but probability to hit is higher (you hit at the optimal speed).
