Every game need rules, here are Equilibrium Project rules ...
To players
For all players : You are supposed to follow all server's rules. In case of transgression, you may suffer punishments as ban from the game. If some rules don't suit you, either accept them or go play elsewhere !
1 - Courtesy
- No racism, no insults, never deliver a blow to players on this server.
- No spamming on chats.
- No offence ...
2 - A minimum of Fair-Play
As in real life, some people are chickenhearted, traitors, thieves (XP, drops, ...), they're supposed to restrain themselves a bit !
This kind of behavior will never be tolerated if :
- It spoils strongly or for a long time the game enjoyment for other players.
- It comes along with lack of politeness.
- No one is obliged to return drops from a dead character. Be careful on unsafe maps, take a Zem !
- Never harass a player. Don't kill again and again the same character with level or number advantage.
- Don't make spy characters (ie : For Crusades).
3 - Server's respect
- Never strive against the server.
- No AFK character (connected character doing nothing) without a good reason, beyond a few minutes ...
- If you think an admin is cheating, no problem ! Just consider he is currently cheating and has the right to cheat. If you don' like it, just go see elsewhere !
- Admin may decide to change server's settings (XP, Drops, Pits, Spells, Items ...). Of course, constructive proposals will be thought about but systematic objections will not be tolerated. If our tweaks don't suit you, that means that the Equilibrium Project concept displeases you so ... good bye !
4 - GM's respect
- Never ask a GM to create an item or summon monsters.
- Comply with GMs demands in the game. In case of complaint, do it later using mail.
- No-GM char is forbidden with "[GM]" in his name ...
5 - What you cannot ask to admins
- To modify a character.
- To create an item even a lesser one ...
- To retrieve XP or items lost after a server crash. Your character is saved at each logout or when you change server. So if you found a nice item or a lot of XP, just disconnect 30 seconds so your character will be saved (or use /savechar) ...
Nota : If your character is bugged, you'll find it ... as the last time it was saved. Hoster performs a daily backup. - Bugs, complaints : Please use mails ! Admins playing characters won't be able to answer 3 whipers at same time !
6 - Beta test
Equilibrium Project is still in a Beta testing phase. But we don't want to erase characters after this beta period so if there is an issue on the server ( ie: Incoherent drop(s), a too easy way for XP or gold ...), admins may adjust involved characters, for fairness to everybody.
To GMs
To GMs : you must respect all rules concerning players.
Having a [GM] character mustn't be considerated as an advantage or an honor. It's just a tool destinated to do a particular task. This task can be limited in time, and thus [GM] character's existence.
1 - Equity
- Prohibition to answer to illegal requests as item creation, use of command /summonplayer, monsters' summon apart from events.
- Prohibition to let items on ground or to let for a player a dropped monster's item which was killed by GM ...
- GM Events (for example Summons) have to be organized in an equitable way for the two nations.
- Prohibition to support anyone.
- All these rules also concerns characters of GM.
2 - Events
Events must be a minimum coordinated, admin have to give his agreement before any event ...
To admins
Finally, admins : admins preside with server's destiny and decide or slice in case of problem.
1 - Loads
Admins are server's owners and have the load (financial, technical, constraints, work, etc...)
2 - In duration
If they don't wish or can't assume anymore these loads, server will cease existing. In this case, they can decide to "pass the hand" to a new team of admins ...
3 - Problems, litigations
- Admins have responsability for final decision concerning server.
- They will try to consult players for important decisions (ex : GMs, gms, Forum modos ... or via a poll in the forum).
